Having grown up in the Central Valley, Dr. Lopez very much enjoys her relationships with her local patients. Dr. Lopez is a cosmetic surgeon in Fresno who has focused her practice on cosmetic surgery and complementary medical spa services. She developed and fine-tuned her expertise working with national and international experts, pioneers in their fields. She has also taken many training courses in cosmetic surgery. Dr. Lopez is a diplomate of the American Board of Cosmetic Surgery. She received her medical degree from the University of California, San Francisco, in 1984, after earning her undergraduate degree from UCLA. She then returned home to the Central Valley to train in obstetrics and gynecology at Kern Medical Center in Bakersfield. She has worked in private practice in both Oregon and California. Dr. Lopez is a Fellow of the American Academy of Cosmetic Surgery and a Fellow of the American Society of Cosmetic Breast Surgery.

When she's not performing cosmetic surgery in Fresno, Dr. Lopez, a former marathon runner, stays physicially fit with a number of activities she loves, including biking, hiking, windsurfing, pilates and yoga.

• Fat Transfer to the Face

Many of our Fresno clients concerned with facial aging are bothered by a loss of tissue volume. As we lose our subcutaneous tissue such as fat and collagen we see the typical changes associated with the aging face. The skin appears more lax and more creases and wrinkles begin to appear. To correct this we need to replace the volume and restore three contours. Fat grafting to the face should be done globally and it can be done alone or in combination with a face-lift or other facial surgery. My colleague and mentor Dr. Mark Berman calls this a space lift. By lifting or positioning the skin off the facial skeleton we can restore our youthful contours and maximize our facial rejuvenation results. The results appear natural and without the pullback appearance of a facelift. This procedure is truly an art and one of my favorite procedures to perform.

• Short Incision Facelift

The short-incision facelift was originally developed in the 1960's. It was less invasive and had less complications. The s-lift has been popularized recently because of it's short incision, good natural nonoperated results, minimal complication rate, less pain and rapid return to regular activities. The incision is usually infront of the ears and along the temporal hairline with minimal scarring behind the ears. This minimal incision approach is popular among our Fresno face lift patients.

• Suture Suspension Neck Lift

Suture suspension of the neck or "neck sling" is a procedure that helps correct the sagging muscles and skin of the neck associated with aging. This procedure can be combined with liposuction of the neck to help restore the youthful contour of the neck without extensive cosmetic surgery in Fresno. This minimally invasive procedure is made through small incisions behind the ear. A permanent suture is tunneled under the skin of the neck and tied down in the small incisions behind the ears. This helps lift the platysma bands and reshape the skin to produce a sharper cervicomental angle.
